About The Game

An often-funny, real-time, first-person, action/strategy game filled with too many dashes-and/or-slashes, where the player conjures spells, ascends to the top of a magic mountain and banishes the boss protecting it. You'll be able to enjoy Ascent of a Wizard on your favorite console or your powerful PC, and it also works in virtual reality.
Ascent of a Wizard is a medieval-fantasy game set squarely in Middle-Uranus. While you might think this is an uncomfortable fit (a medieval-fantasy set on another planet) you will appreciate the variety it allows. For example, you will see traditional fantasy creatures along with alien variations like Space Orcs (Sporcs) and the Intergalactic Network of Trolls (Internet Trolls). Middle-Uranus is also overrun by marauding bands of parentheses (which are silent but deadly).

Seymour the Seer
Seymour must climb to the top of Mt. Goose and banish the evil Mauron.
He has several spells at his disposal, but the one he uses most is teleportation. Seymour can only teleport to places where he can see the ground, so he must constantly look for areas where he can reach higher ground and get a better vantage.

Seymour the Seer
To truly understand Seymour, imagine if Gandalf and Galadriel had a baby. Now imagine that baby grew up and, after many failed romances, moved in with Oscar-winning actor, Al Pacino. While they cared deeply for each other, they were unable to have children of their own. So they adopted an Eastern-European toddler named Igor with excessive body hair and irritable bowel syndrome. After a privileged childhood and six wild years of community college, Igor dropped out and took a job at an orphanage. Coincidentally, Seymour is an orphan.
While none of these people are actually related to Seymour, the point is that maybe they had some small amount of influence on him. The most important take-away is that Seymour in no way infringes upon any trademarks or copyrights in a very real and legally-binding sense.
Anyway, Seymour must climb to the top of Mt. Goose and banish the evil Mauron. He has several spells at his disposal, but the one he uses most is teleportation. Seymour can only teleport to places where he can see the ground, so he must constantly look for areas where he can reach higher ground and get a better vantage.

This won’t be easy since Mauron is always watching and won’t let Seymour rest... similar to how Mauron feels about Mrs. Mauron.
Ascent of a Wizard is not a game about shooting your problems away. Seymour must move quickly to stay out of Mauron’s gaze while thinking strategically to determine the best way to climb. Only through patience, skill and pure determination will he survive... similar to how Mauron feels about his marriage.
